What are the Romanians like?

I would say generally that romaninas are friendly and well educated but of course everyone has their own personality and style.
The younger women take pretty good care of themselves and many people speak some English even if they can sometimes be shy about it.They tend to want to be perfect and not make any language mistakes so they sometimes act like they don't speak English that is until they know you a little bit.
As long as you are open minded and don't compair the US to their country, you should be fine.
people generally don't smile as much as we Americans do, it could be a cultural thing since I find most people in the eastern countries are a bit reserved. Not that they are rude, it's just not common to be too buddy-buddy with a stranger. they take their friendships seriously so it can take some time before they open up to you.
For some reason, there is a stereotype that Romanians are all poor gypsies who wear tattered clothes. Also, sad violin music is associated with these scenes.
